Storyline: The film is a moving portrayal of renowned Chinese composer Xian Xinghai's impoverished childhood in a lowly "Danjia" fishing village in Macau at the turn of the century, and his mother's struggles to bring him up with love despite the hardship. It is also a heartening tale of young Xinghai's fight for success, from the awakening of his musical talent at the bottom of Macau society, to the blossoming of his musical flair in Singapore.
