Storyline: Shira is forced to spend the month between high school and joining the army picking peppers in her father's greenhouses. She has not lived with him since her parents' divorce, and their relationship is clouded by charges from the past. Stranger and lonely, in the routine of picking, surrounded by Thai agricultural workers, she begins to find a sense of belonging and home.
