Storyline: Constance, an aristocrat from the Vendée, and François-Denis, a navy officer 10 years her senior, fall madly in love. But, during a hunting party, Constance has a terrible fall. Left crippled, she breaks off their relationship. Years go by. Whilst war wages on Constance and François-Denis' paths cross once more.
