Storyline: Life in a Ukrainian village after the Soviet revolution. A poetic ballad, which through the lens of a child's observations, dreams and hopes rely on the belief for a new and better future. Living with his grandfather and mother, little Mykhailyk has a great passion for books and hearing about a huge library at a nearby castle, he begins making plans to go there.
