Biography: Gene Gauntier, born Eugenia Gauntier Liggett, was an American screenwriter, director and actress who was one of the pioneers of the motion picture industry. A writer, director and actress in films from mid 1906 to 1920, she wrote screenplays for 31 films.

As he is leaving the spy unconsciously gives a military salute and the commander looks after him with a worried look on his face and a feeling that he is not what he claims to be.
