Biography: Leung Sing Po made his debut in Cantonese Opera at the age of 17. In the beginning he took civil and martial roles, but later because of his round and comic appearance, he specialised in clownish roles. Such was his success that he was often called "The King of Clowns". In 1950, Leung started to appear in films and he made near 400 movies in his career. Films in which Leung appeared as the lead actor include the Silly Wong and The Dunce and so on. From 1967 onwards, he became the host and one of the main anchors of the TV variety show Enjoy Yourself Tonight. Leung was also twice the president of The Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong, and its chairman for four years. In 1976, he was made an MBE, the first local artist ever to receive that honour. Overview: This is a film that celebrates the moral function of art. Sun Ma Si-tsang, at once a master Cantonese opera actor and a talented comedian, showcases an oft-overlooked style of singing, presenting it as an inspirational force that saves life and betters relationships. He plays the titled character, who doesn't operate a boat and is nowhere near bodies of water, but an artist specialising in the Dragon Boat style of music. Forced to perform on the streets to make a living, he ventures into situations manifesting the many societal problems that plague Hong Kong, inspiring and elevating common folks with his artistry. He stars alongside Leung Sing-por in a classic animation of comedy partnership, generating laughter from the interactions between players of contrasting body types.

Overview: A Death Pass is an outstanding crime drama spiced with a touch of ‘Jane Bond'. A sequel to the police story Girl Detective 001 (1966), director Chor Yuen and scriptwriter Szeto On retain the undercover plot but turn the film into more of an atmospheric mystery, in which a series of murders are committed after the victims are served with a provocative Death Pass. Connie Chan Po-chu stays truth to the ‘Jane Bond' persona of a virginal action woman, exuding tender charm and steely professionalism all at once. Under Chor's able direction, Szeto's complicated story is executed with style and vigour, culminating in a climatic dramatic plot twist, realised beautifully by the performance of veteran actor Leung Sing-por.

Overview: The Brothers Grimm's Snow White has been adapted into different art forms around the world, including the beloved 1937 animated film by Walt Disney Studios. Similar to that version, Chow Sze-luk and Lo Yu-kei's adaptation is a light-hearted musical romance, but the Cantonese version's stepmother doesn't have a magic mirror, nor does she care if she's the prettiest of them all. The two also adds intentional Chinese touches to the story, even replacing the iconic poisoned apple with a Chinese BBQ pork bun. However, one thing does remain: the heroic prince rides on a white horse to save the day.
