Overview: Hamaguchi wrote and directed this film as a graduation project for the students at ENBU Seminar (film and theater school in Tokyo) when he taught there. It is a three-part film: The first part is a documentary-style production of a play; Then the actual full stage production of the play; and the epilogue. Poetry and written words play the central role in the movie.
Overview: Kondo, a college dropout, is approached by a friend "Suzuki". Suzuki offers Kondo to work as an Art Festical Staff in an island abroad and for a period of time. To apply he needs to meet a girl named Kyoko. Suzuki will introduce them together within a week. Few days later, Kondo meets an old friend, Yano. He is happy to meet Yano again after quite a time and since they had left their hometown. Yano acts strange, though. "Shit! Come with me!" Yano suddenly starts running. Some Yakuza rush to catch him. Puzzled by this, Kondo escapes with him. The number of Yakuzas is increasing. Can these two run away from this city?
