The director of August Rush (2007) and Disco Pigs (2001), Sheridan was nominated for an Academy Award for co-writing the semi-autobiographical film In America with her father, director Jim Sheridan, and her sister, Naomi Sheridan. Overview: No one expects much from Christy Brown, a boy with cerebral palsy born into a working-class Irish family.
