Biography: From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Edith Josephine Roberts (September 17, 1899 – August 20, 1935) was an American silent film actress. Among her more than 150 screen credits are roles in Seven Keys to Baldpate (1925), Big Brother (1923), The Wagon Master (1929), and The Mystery Club (1926). Her final film role was in Two O'Clock in the Morning (1929). Roberts was married to Harold Carter. She died, aged 35, in 1935, shortly after giving birth to a son, her only child.

Overview: One time “plain Jane” Daphne Carrol returns from Paris a "polished" flapper. She sets her cap for her sister's brother-in-law, Custis Lee even though he is indifferent to her. When Custis’s brother, Jack, managing editor of the local newspaper prints a story of Daphne's return her picture accidentally appears over a news item about the escape of Sally Long from an insane asylum. Daphne gains entrance to Custis' house and poses as Sally, claiming him to be her husband. Fearful for his life, he humors her until he can engage a nurse to watch her. What a Clue Will Do
Overview: Potts, the detective, with his pupil, Pan, are called by a mother to save her child. They go to the spot, accompanied by their hound, in a dog grip, and find the broken-hearted mother, who gives them a shoe and a little shirt as the only means of identifying her child. They see the cub reporter, who has been sent to the neighborhood on a lost child story, and think that she is the kidnapper. Potts enters the saloon, after he sees the reporter enter. She has gone to report on the telephone to her editor. Potts holds up the whole room, and then he and Pan proceed to search the premises. One particularly large person threatens them with a bungstarter. While Pan is waiting for Potts, he scrapes acquaintance with the reporter. When the detectives return from their fruitless search they see the big fellow playing the piano. The distracted mother comes in, and seeing the piano player she recognizes him as her child. Potts takes one look at the tiny shoe and the shirt and gives up the case.
