Overview: A lonely widowed water-gate keeper is attracted to the lonely young wife of a soldier who is away at the battlefront. Their passionate need for each other is strongly condemned by the hypocritical villagers. The tragedy unfolds as the village is starved of its precious water supply.
Overview: A pickpocket (Linton Semage) is blamed by his wife for bringing misery to other families and as well as to their own home. Although he has promised to reform himself, he cannot find another line of work which would bring him a living wage. One day, after a morning of picking pockets, Kamal finds a photograph of his wife in a man's purse he had just stolen. This turns his life into chaos. He does not tell his wife about this and goes on searching for the owner of the purse. What he finds is only the beginning of his tragedy.

The arrival of the Tamil girl into this predominantly Sinhala village causes a stir within the community, where they collectively decide to send her to a refugee camp. "This is My Moon" is a controversial examination of village life, where rural myths are shattered to reveal a deeper reality of a society torn apart by war.
Overview: Rathi is pregnant and waits for her boyfriend, who is a soldier. In one of his visits on leave, Rathi tells him about her pregnancy. Soon after, she finds out that he is actually married, has no intent to take care of the child and simply tells her to perform an abortion.
