Overview: Official submission of Bolivia for the 'Best Foreign Language Film' category of the 68th Academy Awards in 1996. A schoolteacher in the small city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra has a passionate affair with his frigid wife's sister--despite the risk of having to confront not only his wife, but also his dubious father-in-law. Photographer Jonas (Dino García) and teenager Julia (María Renée Prudencio) live the romance loaded with erotic adventure in the dark and wet basement of the old house where he installs his laboratory of development. She is the sister of Talía (Claudia Lobo)- his wife and both are daughters of a coffin maker who dreams of pharaonic tombs. The film shows the rise of drug trafficking, illegal trade in which Julia's family is involved, the same that ends up marrying Grigotá (Milton Cortez) the son of a powerful narco.

David Pablos is a young Mexican filmmaker, born in 1982. His first short film, El mundo al atardecer, was made in 2007. La canción de los niños muertos (2008) was his second short film; he presented his first feature-length film Una frontera, todas las fronteras (2010) at the Berlinale Talent Campus before coming to Venice with his second film, La vida despues, for the 70th Venice International Film Festival.
Overview: Ana is running away from her hometown while Mar, an old acquaintance of hers, is coming back after a long absence. They find each other in the middle of the road and through the night, they make a journey amongst their fears to find out that still waters run deep.
