Biography: Jack Hildyard (17 March 1908 – 5 September 1990) was a British cinematographer. He made several films with David Lean, including The Sound Barrier (1952), Hobson's Choice (1954), and The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957), for which he won an Academy Award for Best Cinematography.
