Overview: Story of a teenage girl whose father dies. She goes to live with her father's friends, a couple. As a sort of revenge on her Father, whom she hates for abandoning her and her mother, she seduces Murray Head, ruining his life. From destroying his and his wife's lives, her own life is reborn.
Overview: The Italians have bocce ball, and the French have a similar game, boules. This is played (generally in the southern part of the country) with steel balls on a packed-earth court. While these games have a bucolic, countrified and even genteel air about them, competition and betting are fierce. In this sports/crime thriller, a young man whose father was killed for violating the unspoken roles of the game in professional competition trains with his grandfather to become a champion boules player just like his father.
Overview: A young woman exercises a special power over wolves, a gift that was passed on to her as a child from a wolf keeper, a type of witch who mentally dominates these animals. The story takes place at the beginning of the 20th century in the French countryside.
