Biography: Teodor Currentzis is a Greek-Russian conductor and musician. He is the Chief Conductor of the SWR Symphony Orchestra and Artistic Director of the ensemble musicAeterna. Outside of music, in 2009, Currentzis acted in Ilya Khrzhanovsky’s film Dau based on the biography of the physicist Lev Landau.

As early as the 1790s, he had an eye on Ode to Joy, perhaps the most well-known poem by Friedrich Schiller, written on the threshold of the French Revolution (1786).
