Biography: Carla Simón Pipó (1986, Barcelona) is a Spanish film director and screenwriter. In 2017, the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences chose her first feature film, Estiu 1993 (2017), shot in Catalan, to represent Spain at the Oscars. In 2022 she won the Berlinale Golden Bear for Alcarràs.
