Biography: Louis Davids, born Simon David (1883-1939) is widely considered one of the Netherlands biggest names in performing arts. He was active in a great many genres of variety entertainment -- revue, operette, cabaret and folk theatre -- and occasionally appeared on radio and film. Davids stood at the cradle of the careers of Dutch performers like Wim Kan, Corry Vonk and Wim Sonneveld.
