Biography: Christina Elizabeth "Dixie" Dunbar was an American singer and film actress. After dancing in big band orchestras, nightclubs and classy restaurants, she made her film debut at age 16 in George White's Scandals as well as on Broadway in Life Begins at 8:40 with Ray Bolger and Bert Lahr from Wizard of Oz. During the 1930s, she appeared in a number of Twentieth Century Fox films, including two Jones Family films.
