It may sound incredibly superficial, but if you want to get back an ex after a break up, then how you look could give you just the edge you need to make that happen. Whether you're a natural born looker, or if you need a bit of work, it doesn't matter. There are things everybody can do to look their best, and that doesn't always mean looking physically attractive (though, as you will see, that is a part of it).

Do you know what one thing has the biggest impact on how you look to other people? It's not how you dress, it's not your hairstyle, in fact, it's not anything that can be faked. It's how you feel on the inside. You could have everything going for you physically, nice clothes, nice hair, and so on. But if you a bunch of negative emotions on the inside, then that's what people will respond to in the biggest way.

If you really want to get an ex back, and you think looks are important, then you need to start from the inside. Break ups can take their emotional toll, but you need to get your feelings under control as soon as possible. Work hard on being happy and regaining your self-esteem. These things will make you look confident and give you a certain radiance that is quite appealing.

You can only move to working on your outside appearance after you have taken care of your inner appearance. Assuming you have done that, here are some ways to improve your physical appearance.

1. Dress well. It may not be fair, but people will judge you on the clothes you wear. You don't have to go out and buy an expensive wardrobe, but you do need to make sure the clothes you wear are neat and clean. At the same time, you don't want to look like you are trying too hard. You want to get back an ex for the right reasons and overdoing it on your clothing will make you look superficial. If your clothes aren't noticed at all, then you are on the right track.

2. Be yourself. This bit of advice usually applies to your personality, but it also applies to how you look. If your ex was always trying to change your appearance, then you need to ask why. Are they only interested in your outer appearance, or do they care about who you really are? If it's the latter, then they will accept how you look.

3. Remember the Golden Rule. While you are trying to look your best to get back an ex, you also don't want that to be the only criterion they use when deciding whether or not to get back together. If that's true, then you need to make sure that you are also not putting too much stock in how your ex looks; it's only fair.

There are many ways to get back an ex, and using as many as you can will help to tip the balance in your favor. That includes how you look.
